Festac Town, Lagos
Community coordination for Festac Town and Amuwo-Odofin, from the numbered avenues to Mile 2 access and estate-style associations.
Festac Town was built for the 1977 Festival of Arts and Culture and remains one of Lagos mainland's most distinctive communities. Its numbered avenues and roads, planned layout and strong resident associations give it a character that feels different from the surrounding districts of Amuwo-Odofin.
Daily life in Festac centres on access and infrastructure. Residents travel through Mile 2 and nearby roads towards the island or Apapa, deal with flooding on low-lying streets during the rainy season, and rely on community associations to coordinate security, waste collection and shared facilities.
Watchdoor fits naturally into that structure. Residents can post alerts that reach the whole community quickly, confirm what is happening at key junctions, and coordinate with neighbours without needing every update to pass through a single group administrator.
